Dealing with Anger
Is your angry behaviour hurting your success at work, in your personal life,
or is it getting in the way of achieving your goals?

Constructive Use of Anger:

    • A healthy signal that indicates there is an issue to deal with
    • An awareness of mistreatment
    • Boundaries have been intruded upon
    • May indicate unrealistic expectations
    • Helpful to indicate that change is necessary

Destructive Use of Anger:

    • Suppress feelings internally
    • Misuse to criticize and blame yourself and other
    • Misuse to criticize, threaten and push others away
    • An excuse to be verbally, emotionally or physically abusive
The group process will allow you to explore and understand your responses with difficult issues and situations and guide you in developing healthy and appropriate responses.

The group experience focuses on two significant areas:


Insight and Awareness:
   
 
  • Understanding your anger style, the origins, mistaken beliefs, triggers and motivators
  • Identifying the underlying purpose of angry behaviours and reactions and the factors that influence them.
  • Experiencing the role of fear, anxiety and stress in angry situations
 
     

Making Changes:

   
 
  • Learn the steps of a collaborative process in a conflict situation
  • Practice communication skills that build respectful interaction in relationships
  • Feel empowered to make constructive and healthy choices and changes
  • Practice an effective negotiation and resolution process
  • Become self-accountable and responsible for your emotional growth
  • Learn to use self-awareness and self-understanding to find your inner stability and resilience
  • Enhance family, work and social relationships

    In our "Dealing with Anger" workshop, you will receive:

    • An individual, computer based assessment that outlines how you typically deal with conflict; your own Conflict-Handling Style. With this knowledge you will be able to identify others' styles of handling conflict and identify more appropriate methods of conflict resolution.
    • Two hours of individual counselling sessions to clarify and personalize your process and action plan.
